GRASP Special Seminar (2 parts) – Jan Faigl, Martin Saska and Libor Preucil, Czech Technical University in Prague

October 3, 2011 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Talk 1 (~20 min): “Intelligent & Mobile Robotics Research at Czech Technical University”
LIBOR PREUCIL, Czech Technical University in Prague

The talk will present a brief overview of the intelligent and mobile robotics research at CTU comprising recent and current activities and achievements in the field. In particular the talk will address robot planning, cooperative and collective robotics, human-robot teams and UAV/UGV navigation for indoor and outdoor environments.

Talk 2 (~20 min): “Towards Control and Localization for Swarms of Low-Cost Autonomous Robots: CoLoS Project Motivations, Research Plan and Expectations”
JAN FAIGL, MARTIN SASKA and LIBOR PREUCIL, Czech Technical University in Prague

The talk will sketch novel ideas for optimization and deployment of robot swarms – micro-UAVs – in real outdoor environments. The presentation will specifically address the issues of swarm deployment, keeping and activity optimization in multi-robot surveillance/patrolling tasks, which are subject to running CoLoS project targeting .
