The GRASP Lab operates as a hub for connecting our research with the venture capital that entrepreneurs provide. The GRASP team is devoted to advancing innovation in robotics that results in new products and services. The Lab builds partnerships with startups, and other collaborators that align with Penn’s initiatives in innovation, and create opportunities to further impact the societal advantages of robotics.
Industry Connections
The GRASP Lab connects and collaborates with Industry in a variety of ways from our annual GRASP Industry Day Symposium & GRASP Lab Seminars/Industry Talks to job placement and research collaborations.
The GRASP Industry Day is a featured day-long symposium where prominent speakers from industry and academia are featured, along with ample networking opportunities with GRASP students, alumni and industry representatives. If you would like to be added to our GRASP-industry e-mail list to receive an invite or have job positions available within your company that you would like distributed to our graduate students, please send your information to charity@seas.upenn.edu.
Penn I-Corps
The I-Corps program is an NSF-funded program for developing faculty and student startups. It works with Penn faculty, staff, post-docs, and students to test and validate startup ideas through Customer Discovery.
Participants learn valuable skills in connecting with customers, asking the right questions, and how to find partners to help get startup ideas off the ground. Plus, qualifying teams will be recommended to apply for the National I-Corps Program.
Programs
The GRASP Lab collaboratively develops programs, events, and resources for Philadelphia area schools and for national engagement. The goals of these programs are to increase access to STEM and robotics resources and ultimately raise the achievement of students in our communities.
