Cassie Kent
PostDoc, CIS '20-'22
Cassie Kent was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, working with Dr. Eric Eaton and the Lifelong Machine Learning research group. She defended her Ph.D. in robotics at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020, advised by Dr. Sonia Chernova in the Robot Autonomy and Interactive Learning lab. The goal of her work is to develop robotic systems that operate effectively in human environments. For her Ph.D. dissertation, she developed problem formulations and learning from demonstration methods that enable mobile manipulation robots to learn from, adapt to, and work with human partners. Her current research focuses on how lifelong learning techniques can improve the autonomy of robots deployed in unstructured environments over long time scales.
