Mihail Pivtoraiko
PostDoc, MEAM ('12-'14) - Aptonomy, Inc.
Mihail Pivtoraiko is the President of Aptonomy, Inc.
His research interests are in robotics and artificial intelligence. Mihail is motivated by fully and partially autonomous systems that exhibit efficient, intelligent and reliable behavior in real-world environments. In particular, he focuses on motion planning and control, as well as their integration with perception, state estimation and other systems that enable capable robots.
Mihail is particularly interested in exploring the application of optimization and learning methods to analyze systems and to design efficient representations that make complex planning and control problems tractable, particularly in the presence of constraints on computing capacity and runtime. Uncertainty in the environment and the robot itself is an important topic in his work, along with other considerations that lead to challenges in developing capable and reliable robots.
